Now more than ever your senior students need you. These are the students that may be slower to return to your studio and will prefer to workout with you virtually for a while. Explore the unique functional needs of this group for strength, flexibility, stamina, coordination, and balance. Learn some simple workouts with and without chairs to provide opportunity for functional programming. Then move into the studio and look at how to adapt the classical work to better meet your students’ needs and abilities.
This special workshop includes a PPT presentation that can be viewed before the workshop to gain a theoretical underpinning. This will count for 1 hour of the CEC’s awarded with the live zoom session providing the other 2 hours.
You will learn how to program a holistic session that will help your students live a healthy, more functionally fit life.
Mind: Engage your students in learning, thinking about movement and health.
Body: Program solid home and studio workouts that lead to better posture and movement and hep with activities of daily life.
Spirit: Discover how to build in ‘uplift’ to your sessions for students who are isolated or struggling with depression.
Connection comes from caring. This workshop will help you connect and retain senior students by being able to better understand and meet their needs mind, body, and spirit.
