The second part of the Mat program is an intensive course adding breadth and depth to Basic Mat. New vocabulary and exercises will be introduced as well as a deeper examination into the underlying principles behind exercise order and progression. Key concepts will be presented that will facilitate teaching and understanding of the classical work. We will expand our knowledge of effective touch techniques, imagery cues and how to enhance movement quality. General dos and don’ts and contraindications for all exercises will be covered as well as strategies for class set-up, cueing, correcting and touch.
Course Materials: Intermediate Mat manual.
Prerequisite: Successful completion of Peak Pilates Basic Mat course including the 30 logged hours required to complete the Basic Mat course. 10 hours observation, 10 hours teaching and 10 hours practice.
