Military Spouse Career Advancement Accounts (MyCAA)
What is the MyCAA Program?
Mad Dogg Athletics participates in the MyCAA program, which is a career development and employment assistance program helping military spouses pursue necessary certifications or certificates of training from approved schools to obtain gainful employment in high demand, high growth Portable Career Fields and Occupations. It is a component of the Department of Defense (DoD) Spouse Education and Career Opportunities (SECO) program, and it provides an education benefit up to $4,000 to assist eligible military spouses who need professional credentials to meet their Portable Career goals.
Who is eligible, and what is covered for MyCAA Financial Assistance?
Spouses of service members on active duty (certain pay grades apply) who can start and complete their coursework while their military sponsor is on Title 10 military orders, including spouses married to members of the National Guard and Reserve Components in these same pay grades. Tuition costs are covered for education/training courses and examinations leading to certification or certificate at an accredited college, university, or technical school in the United States or an approved testing organization that expands employment or portable career opportunities for military spouses. How does one establish a MyCAA Account?
Visit the MyCAA Spouse Portal account registration page, and provide the required Spouse Profile information. A real-time DEERS eligibility check will confirm if you meet MyCAA eligibility requirements so you can move forward and establish your MyCAA Account. Those who do not pass this check will be provided additional guidance. After you have created a verified MyCAA account, but prior to requesting financial assistance from the MyCAA, you will need to submit an Education and Training Plan (E&TP) to the MyCAA, and this can take up to 14 business days to receive approval (Note: Guidance and sample documents can be found within the resource section of the MyCAA Spouse Portal).
Once determined to be eligible for assistance, what do I do next?
Once approved, follow the MyCAA’s step-by-step guidance for requesting financial assistance, and be prepared to provide specific course start/end dates, course code, course title, and tuition. You should be able to manually enter the specific course information directly into your request. Approval of financial assistance can take up to 14 business days. When your request for assistance has been approved by the MyCAA, please contact Mad Dogg Athletics at 1-800-847-7746, ext. 306. We will obtain a copy of the approval document, reserve a space for you in the course, and coordinate the shipping and delivery of any materials you will need. If you need to transfer or modify your reservation, or you wish to change your assistance to apply to a different program altogether, you will need to contact the MyCAA program. Mad Dogg Athletics will bill the MyCAA program directly after you've attended the course and passed any applicable exams.

Counselors at Military One Source Spouse Career Center (MyCAA) are available Monday through Friday from 7am-10pm ET, and Saturday from 10am-5pm ET.
